Sheldon Steiger was raised surrounded by classical music and the rock and roll sounds of the 70's. After studying piano and recording engineering at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Sheldon moved to Washington DC, where he composed and scored many projects for film and video and worked as a producer and engineer for the nascent alternative music scene.
In the mid 90's Steiger began to work closely with acclaimed artist Joe Jackson. He engineered Joe's Night And Day 2 concert video and co-produced the live album Summer in the City and the Grammy-winning Symphony No. 1. His collaborations with Jackson gave way to a host of high profile work with such artists as Bon Jovi, Desmond Child, The Verve Pipe, Paul Simon, PM Dawn and Larry Mullin and Adam Clayton from U2.
In 2000 Sheldon started working for producer and A&R man Steve Greenberg and was privileged to work with such artists as Joss Stone, The Baha Men, The Beu Sisters and many others. Steiger kept a studio during that four year period at Greenberg's S-Curve Records.
In the visual and film world Sheldon produced a DVD for Run-DMC, composed original music for the film American Psycho and produced a track by the Beu Sisters for Wayne Wang's film "Because of Winn Dixie" starring Dave Matthews. Sheldon also recorded the music for the video game Grand Theft Auto II.

Today, Steiger's focus is primarily on developing new and promising independent talent. He keeps a studio at Threshold Music in Manhattan where he concentrates on diverse projects by the likes of Ellie Lawson and Eric Hutchinson who recently signed with Maverick Records. With a strong emphasis on artist development, Sheldon is helping to foster and cultivate the thriving new independent music scene in New York. Sheldon also works for NBC's Saturday Night Live as a freelance recording engineer and mixer.
